The 10th annual meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has been postponed, CPEC Authority Chairman Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) announced on Thursday afternoon.
“The JCC-10 meeting on CPEC, which was scheduled to be held on July 16, has been postponed to a later date after Eid (to be celebrated on July 21),” he said in a tweet.
Bajwa said the new date for the meeting would be shared after finalization and meanwhile preparation for holding the meeting would continue.
The proposed meeting was planned to be co-chaired by Planning Minister Asad Umar and Vice Chairman of China’s National Development and Reforms Commission (NDRC) Ning Jizhe.
Normally the JCC meeting is held once a year. The 9th meeting was held in 2019 but the 10th meeting could not be scheduled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
JCC is the highest decision making forum on CPEC that reviews progress and makes decisions on the mega project.
