Pakistani President Dr Arif Alvi said on Friday afternoon that Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offer huge opportunities to global investors.
Speaking to the Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan, Piotr A. Opalinski, the President said that Pakistan and Poland have huge potential in the areas of trade and both countries need to enhance business and economic cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
He highlighted that Pakistan offers tremendous investment opportunities and investors from Poland should take advantage of the investor-friendly policy and bettered security environment of Pakistan.
Underscoring the need for strengthening the cultural cooperation between the two countries, the President said that the two countries should enhance linkages through joint ventures on the preservation and restoration of national heritages, organize exchange programs of cultural delegations, and promote people-to-people contacts.
He expressed the hope for a number of Pakistani students, studying in the Polish institutions of higher learning, especially in the field of engineering and technology, would help in strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries. He appreciated the role played by the Polish Oil and Gas Company and its desire to expand business in Pakistan.
The President congratulated Piotr A. Opalinski on the successful completion of his tenure as Ambassador and also appreciated his efforts in promoting trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The Polish Ambassador praised the policies of the government, saying that Pakistan was progressing amazingly and the youth will be the major beneficiary of the emerging economic opportunities in Pakistan. He thanked the government of Pakistan for extending him hospitality and taking care of him during his stay in Pakistan.
